The following locking functions are included on the vehicle: The endgate lock cylinder switch / liftgate lock cylinder switch (utility). The door lock and liftgate mechanisms may be controlled by the following switches: The endgate lock cylinder switch /liftgate lock cylinder switch (utility). The power door lock system includes the following components: Lock an unlock by them selves ? Door locks are computer controlled ,by the BCM - body control module. The automatic door lock feature is disabled.Īll of the doors lock when the vehicle is shifted out of Park with the ignition ON.Īll of the doors lock when the vehicle is shifted out of Park with the ignition ON, and all of the doors Unlock when the vehicle is shifted into Park.Īll of the doors lock when the vehicle is shifted out of Park with the ignition ON, and only the driver door Unlocks when the vehicle is shifted into Park.įor information on programming the automatic door locks, refer to Vehicle Personalization in Personalization. The automatic door lock/unlock function is a Vehicle Personalization feature with the following four programmable modes of operation: When this feature is active, the BCM will require a repeated unlock command to unlock the passenger doors. Keyless entry personalization allows the driver door to be unlocked individually before unlocking the passenger doors. The unlock function can also be accomplished by the BCM having received a keyless entry door unlock command, if the vehicle is equipped with keyless entry. Since the Door Lock Actuator lock circuits are held to ground through the resting Door Lock Relay, the actuators execute the unlock command, unlocking the doors. The BCM then applies battery positive voltage to the Door Unlock Relay and the Driver Door Unlock Relay when equipped with keyless entry, the relay(s) in turn apply battery positive voltage to the Door Lock Actuator unlock circuit of all the Door Lock Actuators. When any of the door lock switches is pressed to the unlock position, the BCM door lock/unlock signal circuit changes from an idle voltage of ~3.4 volts to ~1.7 volts generating an unlock command. They lock when put into gear an unlock when put into park because the BCM - body control module does that. This seems to be a common problem with this car, when ordering make sure you have the VIN number of the car you are working on to ensure you get the right part. It has been two weeks now and she is ecstatic that the problem has been fixed and she saved about $750. It took a few star end bits, a 10 mm socket and a regular phillips screwdriver to get the job done. I was able to fix all three door locks in about three hours myself. I called and got a price of $125 for the front door and $105 for each of the back doors from the dealer. She was quoted about $1000 to fix the problem and replace all three of the bad actuator/ door lock assemblies through the dealer. The door lock actuators were the real problem. I checked the fuses, the BCM and the lubrication on the locks. The door locks began to falter one by one until three of the locks had to be operated manually or by using a key.
