What seiko does is offer many of the same models under different brands, depending on the market. I would say that overall fit and finish place it somewhere between the monster and the Samurai.Īs for whether the alba brand is available outside of Asia, as I understand it, generally no. definitely superior in overall fit and finish than the 007 or any of the models using the 0020 case. It is very much in line with seikos ISO rated divers which use 7S movements. As for overall fit and finish, don't let it's price fool you. I also have a black dialed on with a wave patterned dial and the ion plated bezel.Ī small correction on what was mentioned above, this watch is not PVD coated. I have the blue Manta Ray, which is the same as the watch above, but in uncoated SS and with a blue dial instead of grey-black one. Since it has a completely different look/feel than the SKX. Although the more I wear the Alba, the more I like it. Oddly enough though, I think I still prefer my SKX009 - don't know why. Not sure if they are getting harder and harder to get. Maybe more like the sawtooth strap in style, actually. Crown feels really good - better than on my SKX009 - not sure if it's because of the position (3 o'clock instead of 4).Ĭame with a little case and a spare Z22 style rubber strap. The PVD is shiny on the bezel and the sides of the housing. Haven't checked the lume yet, or the accuracy (it's a 7S26 movement).īut the PVD is cool - although it does show the finger prints though. I don't like the hands all that much, but I can live with them for now. Awesome watch! Nice heft to it! -) The all black is really 'stealthy' and the manta pattern on the dial is sweet.
